This is a gorgeous trail winding through the deep forests of the North Georgia mountains. It's a stiff climb from the Deep Gap parking lot up to the top of Green Mountain, and the trail winds gradually down the back side to a beautiful vista on the shores of Lake Blue Ridge.
From GA 515 in Blue Ridge, take Windy Ridge Rd South. Make a left at the stop sign onto East 1st St. Head east about 300 yards and make a right onto Aska Rd. Park at the Deep Gap trailhead parking lot about 3.5 miles south of the turn onto Aska Rd. The Green Mountain trail is across the street from the parking lot.
